Peacock Pansy (Junonia almana)

Binomial Name : Junonia almana
J. almana is a butterfly distributed in all geographical areas of Sri Lanka. Apart form Sri Lanka , this butterfly can be seen in other South Asian countries. Adult of this butterfly exists in two forms. They are namely dry season and wet season form. Eye like markings on upper side of this butterfly is used to deceive predators by appearing as a dangerous animal.

Crimson Rose (Pachliopta hector)

Crimson Rose lives mainly in Sri Lanka and India. But it's rare to find in central hills of Sri Lanka. Bright color patters of wings indicate the inedibility by predators. It is mimicked by the female of Common mormon. But can be distinguished easily by the red colored abdomen and brightly colored crimson markings of Crimson Rose.

Indian robin is a very common bird of Sri Lanka which can be seen in all climatic zones. Diferent populations of this bird has been named based on their plumbage differences. They have been distributed across the Indian subcontinent. Male of this bird is dark in color and the female is brownish. They mostly feed on insects.
